Groundwater Sustainability Committee

The Groundwater Sustainability Committee (GSC) provides guidance for sustainable groundwater management and is supported the development of a single, coordinated Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP) for both Yuba subbasins. When Yuba Water Agency notified the state that it intended to be a Groundwater Sustainability Agency (GSA) in 2015, the agency also created the GSC to be the entity to support the Yuba Water Agency Board of Directors for sustainable groundwater management. A photo of a large green rice field with a pipe with water flowing out into the field

The GSC members, other stakeholders, and the general public are invited to the GSC meetings to review and support the development and implementation of the North and South Yuba Subbasin GSP. The GSC reviews recent and historical groundwater data, models, and planning sections for the development of recommendations to the Yuba Water Agency Board for final approval of the GSP. The two additional GSAs within the North Yuba Subbasin are also members of the GSC and have agreed to participate in all GSC meetings and workshops for the development of a single, coordinated North and South Yuba Subbasin GSP.
