Benefits

Yuba Water pays the full cost of basic medical insurance coverage under a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) or Preferred Plan (PPO), including dental and vision. The agency also contributes $600 per year into a health reimbursement account and offers pre-tax payroll deductions for flexible spending accounts.

Retirement Plans

In lieu of Social Security, Yuba Water contributes 7.65 percent of an employee’s salary toward a deferred income plan on behalf of the employee. Employees have the option, but are not required, to contribute additional funds toward the investment. 

Pension

Yuba Water contributes to the California Public Employees’ Retirement System pensions for full-time, permanent staff. The level of contribution depends on the employees status in CALPERS.

For employees hired after January 1, 2013, Yuba Water pays 5 percent of their 7 percent (of the employee’s salary) CalPERS pension contribution.

Paid Time Off

Yuba Water employees can accrue four to six weeks of paid vacation time per year, based on years of service, and three weeks of paid sick leave. Additionally, employees receive paid time off for holidays, including: 

  • New Year’s Day 
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day 
  • Presidents’ Day 
  • Memorial Day 
  • Juneteenth 
  • Independence Day 
  • Labor Day 
  • Veterans Day 
  • Thanksgiving Day and the day after 
  • Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
